Burnhill Derwent Cottage Reviews

Jamie
We honestly couldn't ask for more. The place was spotless, warmand super comfy - everything we needed. The owners were really helpful, opening up the property so we didn't have to cut our day short for our Saturday dinner plans. The small shop on-site is handy for essentials. The views are stunningand relaxing in the hot-tub under the starry sky was just perfect. The only thing is, it's a bit remote, but Durham's only half an hour away, so it's not a big deal at all. Definitely a spot we'd come back to!

We stayed at this cottage and loved it! Plenty of space for everyone, with three ensuite bedrooms and comfy seating. The place was spotless, stocked with crockery, glassesand utensils for six. The hot tub was a real highlight, towels includedand the kids enjoyed the piano. Stunning countryside views and a welcoming touch with fresh flowers and gluten-free chocolates. We also visited Beamish and Whitley Bay - perfect day trips. Lucky with the weather too, sunny all week. Highly recommend!
Lauren
The cottage was perfect for my mum's milestone, really charming. Definitely planning to use again for family get-togethers!
Emma
We spent a great midweek escape with our group of six adults and three little ones aged 1, 2and 3. The barn was cosy and beautifully decorated, with each bedroom having its own en suite-really handy! The open-plan kitchen and lounge made it easy to hang out together. We loved the hot tub, which we used daily-such a treat! The fire in the lounge made it super warm and inviting in the evenings. Plus, the little touches like the homemade brownie cakes, milkand tea/coffee left for us were thoughtful. Definitely good value for money!
James
We've stayed in quite a few holiday cottages over the yearsand honestly, this one really stands out. They even had a welcome pack for our well-behaved dog, which was a nice touch. The place was well-equipped and not cluttered with the owner's old stuff. It's in a peaceful spot but still easy to get to places like Hadrian's Wall, Beamish Museumand Gibside. Definitely recommended for a relaxing break!
Emma Clarke
What a lovely stay! The cottage was beautiful and the scenery was just perfect, especially with the hot tub! We can't wait to return!

What a stunning cottage! It was so well equipped and we even got a lovely cake to welcome us. Honestly, we can't fault anything at all!
Mark
We've been here three times and honestly, we can't fault it! The new hot tub is fantastic, a lot bigger and it even has bubbles. We'll definitely be returning!
Lucy
We had a wonderful stay at Burnhill Derwent! This is our third time and, as always, everything was thought of to make our time as comfortable and enjoyable as it could be. The hot tub is an absolute bonus and the house has everything you could possibly need. Thank you, Jayne, for another perfect holiday.
