The cottage was well equipped with everything you could need even lots of little extras like fresh eggs milk and local coffee. The owners were very friendly and gave a warm welcome to the cottage. This is our second visit to the Granary and we couldn't of asked for a better week of comfort and relaxation whilst exploring the area. We look forward to revisiting in the future.

The best cottage we have stayed in. Absolutely perfect and they have thought of everything. Very well equipped with thoughtful touches. The cottage is gorgeous, spacious, well planned and beautifully decorated and furnished. The garden was great for the dogs, completely enclosed. Surrounding area is lovely and we did some walks followed by a lovely Sunday roast in the pub in walking distance. 100 recommend and 100 we will be returning and for longer next time.

The cottage was lovely! Very well equipped, showers were great and beds very comfortable. All the rooms were a good size and the garden and hot tub were great! Lots of lovely walks from the doorstep too. Would definitely recommend!
The Granary is a very spacious, very comfortable and well maintained property. The owners have thought of everything to make this an excellent place to stay. It is also in an ideal location for exploring Durham and the surrounding area by car but also there are lovely walks directly from the house and the bus service is also very good.
The Granary is beautiful and very comfortable. It was a fabulous place to stay, unwind, relax and base ourselves for sight seeing and dog walking around County Durham. Its beautiful and Id highly recommend it to anyone.
Victoria
This was our 2nd visit to The Granary. The property is lovely and really spacious as there were 5 adults and a dog, really comfortable beds, great showers in all 3 bedrooms, fully enclosed garden which was great for our dog. Good walks direct from the property and within 30 mins of the coast, plenty of parking as we were in 3 cars. The owners are on site if needed. There was no gas for the barbecue and the parasol was broken and they sorted it straight away. Would highly recommend The Granary
We had a lovely relaxing and peaceful stay in this beautiful and comfortable home from home holiday cottage, it had everything we needed. It comfortably fits 6 people with 3 large ensuite bedrooms. A lovely welcome were the fresh eggs and prosecco. A bonus was that the sun stayed in the garden all day. The surrounding countryside is beautiful and it was lovely to see the Alpacas. We would definitely use again if we are in the area.
Harley
Such a lovely property and the comfiest sofas weve been on in any cottage weve stayed in! The hot tub was perfect and our dogs absolutely loved the garden. The cottage itself exceeded expectations as its much bigger in person than the photos. We would highly recommend this place to any family or couple. The best part for us were the alpacas in the field next to us, such a great addition to get so close to them.
Lovely relaxing stay at The Granary. House and location great. Would definitely stay again and recommend to others. Thank you
Joanne
We spent a week at The Granary but could quite easily have stayed for 2. The Granary is the most comfortable cottage we have stayed in. It is fully equipped with everything we needed. The cottage is beautiful and so spacious. The garden is very secure which pleased our dog, he spent hours running around and exploring. Lots of walks right on the doorstep and a lovely pub down the road. We will definitely be returning.
Deborah
We loved staying at The Granary and would love to return at a later date. It felt very welcoming and cosy, with extra thought put into making it homely which we greatly appreciated. This was over the Christmas period and it definitely felt like home from home. The kitchen was very wellequipped, while the furnishings and beds were super comfortable. Even the ensuite bathroom floor was warm! Sitting in the hot tub watching the sun rise was special. The Granary is also spoilt for beautiful countryside walks and views which we, and the dogs enjoyed. We highly recommend this as a special place to stay! Thank you John and Tracy! Best wishes, Debbie and family.

Great property and very well managed. We had a busy week as the area has so much to offer, so very nice to use the hot tub in the evenings.
The Granary is a great place to stay. The whole place has been decorated to a high standard with high end appliances throughout. Would definitely recommend a stay here.
Excellent property well presented and cared for. Well equipped with extra touches like towels for the hot tub and a welcome pack. Highly recommend. Easy to find quiet location.

Our 2nd visit to the area, 1st stay at The Granary. What a beautiful farmhouse. Clean, cosy, well equipped and very tastefully decorated. Unlimited logs, lovely hot tub, enclosed garden and walks galore on the doorstep. Hosts are fabulous. A very relaxed week. We will definitely return. Thanks for a wonderful stay x.
The cottage, was fabulous, very spacious, great location and well laid out. The kitchen was one of the best equipped that we have stayed in. Would happily stay again if we are vacationing in the area again.
Excellently presented holiday cottage with lots of period feature. Very spacious accommodation, clean and well equipped. Great rural location with easy access to Durham. We enjoyed the large private hot tub and local walks.

The granary is a superb, immaculately clean furnished house 3large bedrooms all ensuite, spacious garden plus large hot tub. Large parking area at the front.approx 50 metres away there's Al pacas in the field where you can see for miles over the fields plenty of walks it's so peaceful and the air is so clean. Both the downstairs lounge and the kitchen are enormous and you will want for nothing. Second time here for us a brilliant week.
Judith

Nicola
Can't find anything to say but perfect
Andrew
This is a fantastic place to stay, the facilities at The Granary are superb. From walking into the property we were in awe at the way it had been converted. Some of the buildings old features had been kept, which added to the character and the space it had meant we werent on top of each other all the time. All three bedrooms are also spacious and have ensuite bathrooms, two with enclosures and one with a shower over bath. The kitchen dining room is open plan and is well equipped and the livingroom again is roomy and has games for family nights. The owners had left welcome gifts chocolates, Prosecco and even milk so you are able to start your stay in style or at least a cuppa!! The garden is completely enclosed, therefore suitable for children and animals and the addition of a hot tub which we used daily!! made for a really relaxing stay. The area itself is beautiful, nice, quiet and peaceful and surprisingly close to other towns and villages in the area. Just outside the door there are excellent views and there are Alpacas and horses which are friendly and enjoy a feed. There are other conversions on the site of the original farm and each one is secluded. All in all, congratulations to John, Tracey and Chris on having such a wonderful site and the ability to put such thought and effort into their properties. Wed love to come back at some point for another break and enjoy the hospitality again. Many, many thanks to you.
We had a lovely week. The property is spacious and immaculately clean. The owners have made a real effort to ensure that everything you could possibly need is available. I would highly recommend.
Alison
The Granary was excellent! It was spotlessly clean, very roomy and beautifully furnished. The garden was spacious and the hot tub lovely! There were nice walks nearby and plenty of great places to visit nearby. Durham and Seaham are well worth a visit. Tracey, the owner was fast in her communications and her and John her husband gave us a nice welcome without being intrusive. We had to arrive a couple of days late due to an unavoidable event and they were very accommodating. We were 2 couples and there was plenty of space. We would go back. It's the nicest holiday accommodation we have stayed in in England and I would highly recommend.
A beautiful immaculate property, in a lovely location. Modern but with original features making the house very quirky. Large enclosed garden with hot tub, & walks into the country direct from the house. The owners are very friendly & provided everything you needed plus some very welcome extras! I would definitely recommend & hope to go back again next year.
Frances
We had a wonderful time at The Granary with everything very much as advertised. The house has pretty much everything you could need for a self catering holiday. It was clean and fresh throughout with comfortable beds for a good night's sleep. Hot tub was relaxing after a day of walking and sight seeing. The surroundings were peaceful despite being only a short drive into Durham. We would definitely consider staying again if we return to the area. The garden is also dog friendly being fully enclosed and inside had dog bowls and blanket in case they were forgotten!
The property was stunning, more so than the pictures show. Immaculate and spotlessly clean. All fixtures and fittings to a high standard. The owners very helpful and friendly who provided additional extra touches that made for a lovely welcome to the property.
This is a top rate holiday cottage. We all loved staying there and look forward to returning.
